Lord Saatchi has joined forces with John Clare, the former chief executive of Dixons, and web business expert, Michael de Kare-Silver, to create a site that claims to unite shopping with social networking. MyFaveShop.com will be launched in the summer, and will allow shoppers to design their own shop. Lord Saatchi said: "What brands want most is repeat business from loyal customers. In the internet world that means being added to someone's favourites. MyFaveShop will give advertisers the opportunity to be considered when someone is building their favourite shop". Users can invite friends and family to their store, and they are able to post reviews comments and tips.
BACKLOGS THREATEN GOVERNMENT TARGETS FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY
Plans to erect more than 10,000 wind turbines across Britain and around the coast by 2020 are under threat as Siemens(SIEGn.DE: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), the engineering giant, admitted a four-year backlog of orders for its largest machines. British utility companies have been warned new orders for turbines will not be filled until 2012 at the earliest. A spokesman for nPower, Britain's largest wind power generator, said: "There is a waiting list. but the important thing for us is to be able to give assurance to suppliers that the long-term contracts will be there".
