Terra Firma, the private equity group controlled by Guy Hands, has stepped in with an approach for wind farm developer Novera Energy, lining up the prospect of a bidding war with rival private equity group 3i Infrastructure (3IN.L: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), which last month bought a 10 percent stake in Novera and said it was considering a full bid at 90 pence a share. Novera confirmed it had received an approach from the Terra Firma-owned Infinis, one of the UK's biggest renewable energy companies. Any potential deal is held up by an ongoing legal dispute between Novera and Waste Recycling Group, which leases sites to Novera and must agree to any change of ownership.
