PARIS, July 14 (Reuters) - European stock index futures pointed to a higher open on Tuesday following strong gains on Wall Street and ahead of results from U.S. bellwethers such as Goldman Sachs (GS.N).

At 0606 GMT, futures for the Eurostoxx 50 STXEc1, Germany's DAX FDXc1 and the French CAC 40 FCEc1 were up between 0.5 and 1 percent.

U.S. shares gained more than 2 percent on Monday as bullish analyst comments on the financial sector reignited hopes that banks' quarterly results could be stronger than expected. (Reporting by Blaise Robinson, editing by Atul Prakash)
