Alberta Power has outage at 150 MW unit
MONTREAL, Feb 6 (Reuters) - Canadian Utilities Ltd (CU.TO: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) unit Alberta Power said on Wednesday it had an unplanned outage at its Battle River generating station and expected about 150 megawatts of power will remain off-line until mid-March.
Alberta Power has claimed force majeure relief under the provisions of a power purchase arrangement. If the claim for relief is unsuccessful, the cash impact on the company will be about C$10 million, it said. Alberta Power added that it does not expect any material impact on 2008 earnings from the outage.
