Conoco L.A.-area refinery shuts SRUs -state

HOUSTON, Feb 7 (Reuters) - ConocoPhillips (COP.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) shut sulfur recovery units at the Carson plant of its 139,000 barrel per day (bpd) Los Angeles refining complex on Thursday, according to a notice filed with state pollution regulators.

The shutdown triggered flaring at the Carson plant on Thursday, according to the filing with the California Office of Emergency Services.

The Los Angeles refining complex has plants in Carson and Wilmington, industrial suburbs in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by Gary Hill)
