SAN DIEGO, CALIF, March 11 (Reuters) - Valero Energy Corp's (VLO.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) 295,000 barrel per day refinery in Port Arthur, Texas is running at 260,000 to 270,000 barrels per day and will continue at that level through the end of March, the company's chief executive told reporters on Tuesday.

Valero will run the refinery at those levels in order to balance the refinery's crude inventories ahead of ongoing work on a coking unit, said Bill Klesse, speaking at the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association meeting in San Diego.
