Chevron El Segundo, CA refinery reports upset -state

HOUSTON, May 14 (Reuters) - Chevron (CVX.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) reported an upset that triggered flaring on Wednesday at its 260,000 barrel per day (bpd) Los Angeles-area refinery in El Segundo, California, on Wednesday, according to a notice filed with state pollution regulators.

The flaring was from the plant's coking unit flare, according to the notice filed with the California Office of Emergency Services. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by Gary Hill)
