Samsung Elec says to respond to Sony TV price cut

SEOUL, April 25 (Reuters) - Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (005930.KS: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Friday it would respond "case by case" to Sony Corp's (6758.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) LCD TV price cuts as another round of price reduction is seen in the fourth quarter.

"We would like to avoid price competition ... But the bottom line is that we don't want to lose our ground of leadership," a Samsung executive said during a conference call. (Reporting by Rhee So-eui; Editing by Edmund Klamann)
