Hynix to invest 646 bln won in Q2 on chip plants

SEOUL, April 25 (Reuters) - South Korea's Hynix Semiconductor Inc (000660.KS: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Friday it would invest 646 billion won ($648.6 million) in the second quarter to expand and upgrade its memory chip facilities.

The worl'd s No. 2 maker of memory chips earlier said it would reduce its 2008 capital investments by 1 trillion won to 2.6 trillion won.
