Hynix says outage to cost up to $18 mln lost sales

SEOUL, May 20 (Reuters) - Hynix Semiconductor (000660.KS), the world's second biggest maker of memory chips, said on Tuesday output disruptions caused by a power outage at its plant in China overnight may result in $16 million to $18 million in lost sales.

"The figure includes chips lost during the outage and lost production while the plant goes back into full operation," said James Kim, vice president in charge of investor relations at Hynix.

Kim also said it would take "about two days" for the plant to fully ramp up. Hynix had previously said power had been restored to the plant on Tuesday at 2:50 a.m. local time in China (1850 GMT).
