SINGAPORE, Feb 19 (Reuters) - International Lease Finance Corp (ILFC), the world's largest plane leasing firm by fleet value, is in talks to buy over 100 planes from both Airbus (EAD.PA: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) and Boeing (BA.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), its chief executive said on Tuesday.

"It's well over 100 on each side," ILFC's boss Steven Udvar-Hazy told Reuters, when asked about purchase plans from the two planemakers on the sidelines of the Singapore Airshow.

ILFC, a unit of the American International Group Inc (AIG.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), will seek compensation from Boeing for the delay in delivering its Dreamliner 787 plane, he added. (Reporting by Koh Gui Qing, editing by Neil Chatterjee)
