Japan's Nikkei down 4 pct on U.S. recession fears

TOKYO, Feb 6 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei share average fell more than 4 percent on Wednesday, dragged down by exporters such as Canon Inc (7751.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), amid renewed fears of a U.S. recession.

As of 0138 GMT, the benchmark Nikkei average .N225 was down 4.1 percent to 13,187.58. The broader TOPIX index shed 3.7 percent to 1,304.72. (Reporting by Aiko Hayashi)
