TOKYO, March 6 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei share average rose 3 percent on Thursday after hitting a six-week closing low the previous day, with exporters such as Canon Inc (7751.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) rising on a stabilising yen and easing concerns about a U.S. recession.

As of 0431 GMT, the benchmark Nikkei average .N225 was up 2.9 percent at 13,345.78 after briefly rising more than 3 percent.

The broader TOPIX index was up 2.5 percent at 1,295.64. (Reporting by Aiko Hayashi)
