TOKYO, May 21 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average slid 2 percent on Wednesday, dragged down by financial shares on lingering credit worries, while Toyota Motor Co (7203.T) and other exporters fell on a stronger yen and worries about inflation in the U.S. economy.

The Nikkei .N225 shed 280.12 points to 13,879.97. The broader Topix index fell 2.5 percent to 1,364.86. (Reporting by Aiko Hayashi)
