TOKYO, March 7 (Reuters) - Softbank Corp (9984.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), Japan's smallest mobile phone carrier, won more subscribers than its two bigger rivals in February, data released by the operators showed on Friday.

Softbank signed up 228,100 additional subscribers on a net basis, beating its rivals for the 10th straight month, amid a price war in a saturated market.

No. 2 player KDDI Corp (9433.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) added a net 201,200 users while NTT DoCoMo Inc (9437.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), Japan's top mobile phone carrier, signed up 43,700 new users as a group last month. (Reporting by Aiko Hayashi)
