TORONTO, July 6 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened sharply lower on Monday as concerns about the pace of global economic recovery combined with weak commodity prices to send the resource-heavy index to its lowest level in more than a week.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 209.35 points, or 2.04 percent, at 10,073.75 moments after the open.

All 10 TSX sectors were down, led by 3.9 percent skids in the energy and materials groups. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Peter Galloway)
