NEW YORK, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Wall Street bank Goldman Sachs (GS.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Wednesday its senior media analyst Anthony Noto is leaving his post as a partner to join the National Football League as chief financial officer.

Noto, who was with the firm for 9 years, headed Goldman Sachs Media and Entertainment research team. He was previously a retail analyst with Lehman Brothers.

NFL said Noto will oversee league-wide finance and strategy functions, including corporate development and other finance functions. He will begin at the NFL on Feb 24 and report to Commissioner Roger Goodell. (Reporting by Yinka Adegoke; Editing by Derek Caney)
