Panera quarterly profit falls on write-down, charges
LOS ANGELES, Feb 12 (Reuters) - Sandwich shop Panera Bread Co (PNRA.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) on Tuesday reported lower fourth-quarter earnings, due to an investment write-down and charges related to the discontinuation of its Crispani product line and tax adjustments.
St. Louis-based Panera had net income of $18 million, or 56 cents per share, compared with its year-earlier net income of $18.9 million, or 59 cents per share.
Revenue came in at $300.8 million for the quarter, down from $232.9 million a year ago. (Reporting by Lisa Baertlein; Editing by Tomasz Janowski)
