Microsoft and News Corp in talks for Yahoo -NYT

NEW YORK, April 9 (Reuters) - News Corp (NWSa.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) is in talks with Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) about joining in its contested bid for Yahoo Inc (YHOO.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), The New York Times said, citing people involved in the discussions.

The combination would join Yahoo, Microsoft's MSN and News Corp's MySpace, the New York Times said on its Web site late on Wednesday.
