Oct 27 (Reuters) - Some small and midcap stocks on the move on Tuesday:

DRYSHIPS INC (DRYS.O), $6.49, up 6 pct

The drybulk shipping and contract drilling company's quarterly earnings beat market estimates. [ID:nBNG546932]

MICROVISION INC (MVIS.O), $4.18, up 5 pct

The company said it received an order for its SHOWWX laser-based pico projector from a mobile phone operator.

HILAND PARTNERS LP (HLND.O), $9.95, up 27 pct

HILAND HOLDINGS GP, LP (HPGP.O), $3.14, up 30 pct

The companies said they were considering a proposal to increase the merger consideration payable to both companies' unitholders. The proposal would raise the payment to Hiland Partners holders to $10.00 per common unit from $7.50, and to Hiland Holdings holders to $3.20 from $2.40.

VEECO INSTRUMENTS INC (VECO.O) $26.85, up 7 percent

The semiconductor equipment maker swung to a quarterly profit after posting losses for four consecutive quarters, helped by restructuring actions, and forecast a strong fourth quarter. [ID:nBNG477632]

WINN-DIXIE STORES INC (WINN.O), $12.15, down 9 pct

The company posted a wider quarterly loss and gave a weak 2010 outlook as recession-hit consumers shopped for a lesser number of items on every visit to its stores, sending the supermarket chain's shares down 13 percent [ID:nBNG517552]

ZORAN CORP (ZRAN.O), $9.04, down 11 pct

The company reported a quarterly profit that beat market estimates due to strong demand for HDTVs, digital cameras and DVDs, but gave a lower-than-expected outlook for the fourth quarter. [ID:nBNG27649]
