UK's Brown urges coordinated response to market turmoil
LONDON, Dec 13 (Reuters) - The European Union should play a leading role in shaping a coordinated global response to the recent financial market turbulence, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said on Thursday.
In a statement issued before an EU summit, Brown said the bloc should lead by example on trade and must remain "strongly committed to the principle of open markets." (Reporting by Adrian Croft, Editing by Sophie Walker)
