Volkswagen may sell Polo subcompact in U.S.-paper
FRANKFURT, Jan 14 (Reuters) - Volkswagen (VOWG.DE), Europe's largest carmaker which is struggling to staunch losses in the U.S. auto market, is considering offering the Polo subcompact to Americans, German business daily Handelsblatt reported.
"I will meet with our 600 dealers in the USA this week and ask them 'do you need the VW Polo'," Chief Executive Martin Winterkorn told the paper in an article to be published on Tuesday.
The microbus concept Space Up! could also find a market in the United States, it added. (Reporting by Christiaan Hetzner, editing by Leslie Gevirtz)
