NYSE Euronext to open Beijing office Dec. 11
NEW YORK, Dec 2 (Reuters) - NYSE Euronext (NYX.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Sunday it will open a representative office in Beijing on Dec. 11.
China's securities regulator in September gave approval for the company to set up a representative office there -- making it the first foreign bourse to win such an approval.
Rival stock exchange The Nasdaq Stock Market Inc. (NDAQ.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) received approval shortly after to also open an office in Beijing.
The Wall Street Journal reported on its Web site that Nasdaq's office would open on Sunday. Nasdaq was not immediately available for comment on the timing of the office opening. (Reporting by Megan Davies; Editing by Tomasz Janowski)
