Mexican stocks jump, but U.S. holiday dulls trade
MEXICO CITY, Sept 3 (Reuters) - Mexican stocks closed sharply higher on Monday, led by gains in top retailer Wal-Mart de Mexico (Walmex) (WALMEXV.MX: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), but trading was light as the U.S. Labor Day holiday kept many investors out of the market.
The benchmark IPC stock index .MXX rose 1.48 percent to 30,797.60 points.
