U.S. approves Nokia's purchase of Navteq

WASHINGTON, Dec 6 (Reuters) - U.S. antitrust authorities have approved mobile telephone maker Nokia's (NOK1V.HE) purchase of digital map maker Navteq NVT.N, the Federal Trade Commission said on Thursday.

The approval was announced in a list of deals that have been okayed by antitrust authorities that is put out by the FTC.

Navteq shareholders are expected to approve the $8.1 billion deal in a special meeting on Dec. 12. It has said it expects to complete the deal in the first quarter of 2008. (Reporting by Diane Bartz; Editing by Derek Caney)
