MRV raises additional $42 mln in stock sale
SAO PAULO, July 14 (Reuters) - MRV Engenharia (MRVE3.SA) and its shareholders sold an additional 82.8 million reais ($41.7 million) worth of stock to investors, the Brazilian construction company said on Tuesday.
Since June, when the offering started, the company raised a total 722.1 million reais from the sale of 24.3 million common stock and 5.2 million preferred stock at a price of 24.5 reais per share. MRV will use its part of the fundraising to finance current and future projects and increase its land bank.
Offerings lost momentum in late 2008 as the global credit crisis worsened but have rebounded after the sale of 12.9 billion reais in shares since March, including the record-setting initial public offering of credit card processing company VisaNet (VNET3.SA) in late June.
Companies including food processor Perdigao SA (PRGA3.SA), consumer goods company Hypermarcas SA (HYPE3.SA) and cosmetics maker Natura (NATU3.SA) have also filed to sell stock in primary and secondary offers in the coming weeks.
