US STOCKS-Wall St edges up as energy's gains offset retail data

 NEW YORK, July 14 (Reuters) - U.S. stock indexes turned
positive on Tuesday, lifted by the energy sector's advance,
which offset retail sales data pointing to weak consumer
demand.
 The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI rose 14.43 points,
or 0.17 percent, to 8,346.11. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index
.SPX gained 2.83 points, or 0.31 percent, to 903.88. The
Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC added 4.05 points, or 0.23
percent, to 1,797.26.
