Alon says Big Spring, Tex fire out; refinery down
NEW YORK, Feb 19 (Reuters) - Alon USA said Tuesday that the fire at its Big Spring, Texas refinery was extinguished late Monday but that process units at the 67,000 barrel per day refinery remained down.
"We can get in there today and begin to get information about what caused the fire and what it will take to bring it back online," said Blake Lewis, a spokesman for the refinery.
Lewis said the racks and terminals were operating, product was still leaving the plant, and that customers would continue to be supplied.
He said the fire was centered in the propylene splitter. (Reporting by Janet McGurty; Editing by John Picinich)
