California power grid restricts maintenance Wed

LOS ANGELES, Oct 23 (Reuters) - California's power transmission grid will continue restrictions on maintenance on transmission lines in Southern California on Wednesday, the grid manager California Independent System Operator said on Tuesday.

The wildfires in Southern California have caused the outage of one main transmission east-west link into San Diego County -- the Southwest Powerlink -- and restricted power flow on the other, a north-south line, San Diego Gas & Electric Co said.

The Cal ISO also called for power producers to "avoid actions which may unnecessarily jeopardize generator availability," it said in a note to the power industry. (Reporting by Bernie Woodall)
