UPDATE 1-Chevron says El Segundo unit operating normally

HOUSTON, Oct 25 (Reuters) - A compressor at Chevron Corp's (CVX.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) 265,000 barrel per day (bpd) Los Angeles market refinery in El Segundo, California, was operating normally on Thursday after a Wednesday upset, refinery spokesman said.

The compressor that feeds a reformer malfunctioned late on Wednesday morning due to a control problem and was restored to normal operations by Wednesday night, said spokesman Rod Spackman.
