SAN FRANCISCO, May 29 (Reuters) - OpenTable Inc., the online dinner reservations site has named Jeff Jordan, a former top eBay Inc. (EBAY.O) executive, to join the company as its chief executive, effective June 4.
Jordan is the former president of eBay's online payments unit, PayPal, and previously ran eBay North America. He left during a shakeup of eBay management last July.
Current Chief Executive Thomas Layton, who ran OpenTable for nearly six years and headed its efforts to recruit Jordan, will remain a member of OpenTable's board of directors.
