Japan opposition to win most seats in Tokyo poll-Kyodo

TOKYO, July 12 (Reuters) - Japan's opposition Democratic Party was likely to win the most seats and the ruling bloc could lose its majority in a Tokyo election on Sunday, Kyodo news agency reported.

A defeat would intensify moves to oust unpopular Prime Minister Taro Aso before a looming national election.

The vote for the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly is widely seen as a bellwether for a national election that must be held by October.

A Democratic Party victory in the lower house election would end half a century of nearly unbroken rule by the conservative LDP and raise the chances of resolving a deadlock in a divided parliament.
