Japan Nukaga: should nominate Muto again if rejected
TOKYO, March 11 (Reuters) - The government should renominate Toshiro Muto a second time if he is rejected by parliament, Japanese Finance Minister Fukushiro Nukaga said on Tuesday.
Nukaga, asked what would happen if parliament rejected the government's three nominees for BOJ governor and deputies, said he was suggesting that the government should stick to those three candidates.
A policy vacuum at the bank of Japan must be avoided amid rising risks to the economy, Nukaga told a news conference after a cabinet meeting. He also said he was watching currencies carefully. (Reporting by Tetsushi Kajimoto)
