TOKYO, May 27 (Reuters) - Bank of Japan (BOJ) Governor Masaaki Shirakawa said on Tuesday the earthquake that struck China earlier this month had not had a major impact on the Japanese economy.

Shirakawa also told the upper house that he would be on guard against possible fallout from the devastating earthquake, adding that Chinese economy is facing both upside and downside risks. (Reporting by Hideyuki Sano and Yuzo Saeki)
