CNBC expects Dow Jones to honor TV contract
NEW YORK, July 31 (Reuters) - General Electric Co.'s (GE.N) CNBC business news channel said on Tuesday that it expects Dow Jones & Co. Inc. DJ.N to honor its news sharing deal, no matter who owns the company.
Dow Jones, which owns The Wall Street Journal, is close to a deal to be bought by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. NWSa.N for $5 billion. CNBC's contract with Dow Jones expires in 2012.
Murdoch plans to start a business news channel this October to compete with CNBC. (Reporting by Kenneth Li and Robert MacMillan)
