Harbinger seeks to combine Inmarsat with SkyTerra
LONDON, July 25 (Reuters) - U.S. hedge fund Harbinger said on Friday it planned to bid for British satellite communication firm Inmarsat (ISA.L: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), pending regulatory approval, and combine the group with its SkyTerra (SKYT.OB: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) business.
Harbinger, which owns 28 percent of Inmarsat and 48 percent of satellite communications group SkyTerra, said that, as it was likely to take 12-18 months to obtain regulatory approvals, it would not announce the formal terms of an offer yet. (Reporting by Mark Potter; Editing by Paul Bolding)
