National Health says still in talks with "third parties"

Aug 6 (Reuters) - National Health Investors Inc. (NHI.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said its legal and financial advisors are still engaged in negotiations with "third parties" designed to maximize shareholder value.

The real estate investment trust said its special board committee plans to outline its initiatives and/or negotiation results within the near future.

In April, the company had said it was in preliminary talks "regarding a possible combination of interests with another company." (Reporting by Dilipp S. Nag in Bangalore)
