NEW YORK, Nov 13 (Reuters) - Corning Inc (GLW.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) raised its expectations for fourth-quarter sales and profit on Tuesday, boosted by strong sales of its liquid crystal display (LCD) glass used in flat-screen televisions.

Corning said it expects earnings per share before special items of 38 to 40 cents, compared with a previous view of 36 to 38 cents.

The company also raised its sales forecast to a range of $1.53 billion to $1.56 billion from a previous view of $1.5 billion to $1.55 billion. (Reporting by Michele Gershberg, editing by Gerald E. McCormick)
