Jan 19 (Reuters) - Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories Ltd. (CPD.A) said an appeals court upheld the ruling of a federal court that its generic version of painkiller Ultracet does not infringe upon Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical Inc.'s patent.

Caraco's Tramadol with Acetaminophen is the generic equivalent of Ortho-McNeil's Ultracet, the company said in a statement.

Ortho-McNeil is a unit of Johnson & Johnson Inc. (JNJ.N). (Reporting by Jennifer Robin Raj in Bangalore)
