Brewer S&N to invest $75 mln in Vietnam brewery
HANOI, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Britain's biggest brewer Scottish and Newcastle SCTN.L is looking to start its first brewery in Vietnam with a $75 million investment, state media reported on Tuesday.
The plant, to be located near Ho Chi Minh City in the south, would have an annual output of 75 million litres of Kronenbourg beer in the first phase, the Dau Tu (Investment) newspaper quoted S&N's country manager Juan Luis Restrepo as saying.
The company plans to import Kronenbourg to Vietnam until the plant has started production.
Several international brewers have established their own breweries in Vietnam including Dutch brewer Heineken (HEIN.AS), Singapore's Tiger Beer (APBB.SI)(FRNM.SI) and Denmark's Carlsberg (CARLb.CO). (Reporting by Nguyen Nhat Lam, editing by Jan Dahinten)
