Federated holders approve name change to Macy's
CHICAGO, May 18 (Reuters) - Federated Department Stores Inc. FD.N said on Friday that shareholders approved a plan to change its corporate name to Macy's Inc. as of June 1, a move that reflects the name of the majority of its stores.
The company's shares will start trading under the ticker symbol "M" (M.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) on the New York Stock Exchange on June 1.
Federated also said its board declared a 2 percent increase in the quarterly cash dividend to 13 cents per outstanding common share, up from 12.75 cents. The new dividend will be paid on July 2 to holders of record on June 15.
