Talbots reports third-quarter loss
NEW YORK, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Talbots Inc (TLB.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) reported a quarterly net loss on Tuesday, versus a year-ago profit, hurt by one-time expenses and lower sales at its namesake apparel chain.
Talbots, which also owns the J. Jill brand, posted a net loss of $9.4 million, or 18 cents per share, compared with a net profit of $8.1 million, or 15 cents per share, in the year-earlier period.
The company had forecast a net loss of 20 cents to 25 cents per share, including 7 cents in expenses related to executive compensation and professional consulting fees. (Reporting by Martinne Geller; editing by John Wallace)
