(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1230 GMT on Tuesday:

* BAGHDAD - Three Iraqi soldiers and four policemen were killed on Monday when a suicide car bomber rammed their checkpoint in south Baghdad, U.S. military said on Tuesday.

* BAGHDAD - Two people wounded by a car bomb near a police station in al-Khadhra, south western Baghdad, police said.

* KIRKUK - Iraqi police found two bodies near Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, police said. They had been tortured and shot.

* BAGHDAD - One detainee died at Camp Cropper after being assaulted by other detainees on Saturday, the military said.

* ARAB JABOUR - Coalition forces detained 13 suspected insurgents during operations in the Arab Jabour area in southern Baghdad on Friday, the U.S. military said.

* BAGHDAD - Iraqi soldiers killed 37 militants, arrested 51 and detained 65 other suspects during the past 24 hours in Iraq, the Defence Ministry said in a statement.

SAMARRA - Gunmen killed five Iraqi soldiers and wounded three others when they attacked a military checkpoint near Samarra, 100 km (62 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BALAD - Gunmen killed three policemen and wounded another officer at a fake checkpoint near Balad, 80 km (50 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

DIWANIYA - Iraqi special forces detained 12 militants suspected of links to the Mehdi Army militia of Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr during two operations in Baghdad on Sunday, the U.S. military said.

BAGHDAD - U.S. forces detained 17 suspected militants in raids in central and northern Iraq, the U.S. military said.

ISHAQI - Gunmen kidnapped three brothers at a fake checkpoint near Ishaqi, 100 km (60 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

ISHAQI - Gunmen killed one person when they attacked the house of a tribal leader near Ishaqi on Monday, police said.

BAGHDAD - Gunmen kidnapped army Brigadier-General Abdul Razaq Asel, director of a joint security centre in the northern city of Mosul, while he was visiting his family in the Adhamiya district in Baghdad on Monday, police said.

BAGHDAD - Police found the bodies of 26 people around Baghdad on Monday. Most had been shot, victims of sectarian death squads.  Continued...
