OTTAWA (Reuters) - Seven Canadian soldiers were injured in two separate mine blasts in Afghanistan on Wednesday night, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. said on Thursday.

Most of the men were slightly injured by the explosions, which occurred during a patrol, CBC reported.

Defense ministry officials weren't immediately available for comment.

Canada has 2,500 troops based in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar. A soldier was killed in a mine blast on Tuesday, the 77th member of the armed forces to die since Canada sent troops to Afghanistan in 2002.
