Seth Tobias may be murder victim: aide
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Hedge fund manager and television commentator Seth Tobias, who was found dead over Labor Day weekend, may have been murdered, an aide to Tobias told television station CNBC on Thursday.
Tobias, who founded hedge fund Circle T Partners and was a frequent guest on CNBC, was found dead in his swimming pool at his home near Palm Beach, Florida at the age of 44.
Bill Ash, who said he was Tobias' assistant, told CNBC he has taped proof that Tobias was a murder victim, according to a story on CNBC's Web site. Ash told CNBC he is working with police.
A police spokesman in Jupiter, Florida told CNBC the death is not classified as suspicious, but investigators are awaiting toxicology results.
Police said they interviewed Ash at his home in San Diego after he came forward with information, CNBC reported.
CNBC didn't say what evidence Ash has that suggests Tobias was murdered.
