(Reuters) - Following are five key facts about Javier Bardem, who won the Oscar for best supporting actor on Sunday for his role in "No Country For Old Men."
-- Bardem, 38, was born in the Spanish Canary Islands. He is the youngest member of an acting family and got his start at the age of 6.
-- This is his first Oscar and follows wins at the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild and BAFTA.
-- He is the first Spanish actor to win an Oscar.
-- Bardem plays a chilling, mostly silent killer who often decided his victim's fate on the toss of a coin and shoots them with a weapon used to slaughter cattle.
-- "No Country For Old Men," which is also nominated for the best picture Oscar, has grossed $61.3 million (31 million pounds) at the North American box office as of Feb 22.
