NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Wall Street Journal will rename its Saturday leisure section, the first significant step taken since Rupert Murdoch's News Corp agreed to buy the Journal's parent, Dow Jones & Co., the New York Times reported in its online edition.

The Journal will rename Pursuits, its Saturday leisure section, as Weekend Journal, the same name as the Friday section, the Times said, citing several people familiar with the paper's decision.

The change would mean the newspaper will put out a Weekend Journal section on both Friday and Saturday and a Personal Journal section on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the report said.

According to one person close to the company, Dow Jones thought the previous names for the leisure sections were too confusing, the report said.

Dow Jones spokespeople were not immediately available for comment.
