Toyota to stop N.America plants for 2 days in Dec

TOKYO (Reuters) - Toyota Motor Corp said on Wednesday it would stop production at all of its assembly, transmission and engine factories in the United States and Canada for two extra days next month to work down bloated inventory.

A spokesman at Toyota could not say how many vehicles' worth of production would be lost as a result of the planned stoppages on December 22 and 23.
