Bush says economy growing despite uncertainty

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush on Tuesday said the U.S. economy was growing despite uncertainty and that passing "good law" would help expedite a recovery.

"I'm not an economist, but I do believe that we're growing," Bush said at a news conference, adding that the economy was "not growing the way it should."

"The economy is growing, there's obviously financial uncertainty," he said, mentioning the government-sponsored mortgage lenders.
