NEW YORK Dec 23 R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co
(RRD.N) amended its savings plan to suspend matching company
contributions, effective Jan. 1, 2009, according to a
regulatory filing on Tuesday.
The Chicago-based provider of printing services said the
only exception would be where matching contributions were
required by collective bargaining or similar agreement.
The company could not be reached for further comment.
The move comes as other companies cut back on various forms
of compensation to save costs in a recession. FedEx Corp
(FDX.N), Motorola MOT.N and Eastman Kodak Co EK.N have
recently announced plans to suspend or cut their contributions
to employees' 401 (k) retirement savings plans.
